MCPE by FASSIPHONE
Founded in France in 1983 by the Feddal brothers, Mondial Cassette Production Europe (MCPE) is one of the most important labels to have produced and distributed Algerian, North African and Raï music in France and Europe at the time of the emergence of the latter genre.
Producing artists such as Rabah Driassa, Mazzouni and Saloua, the Feddal brothers acquired a great reputation in Algerian production circles. Before MCPE, they set up two companies: Algérophone and Sonia.
But it was their encounters with Khaled, Hasni and other promising young talents on the still-emerging Raï scene that enabled the Feddal brothers to make the music they produced a truly international success.
“Ana Dellali”, “Chaba Bent Bladi” and “Hada Raykoum” are just some of the hits by the young Khaled that resonated with audiences at the Bobigny Festival in 1986, helping to make him a widely known name in France and the rest of the world.
These unforgettable tracks attracted the attention of producer Pascal Nègre, who contacted the Feddal brothers to enable Khaled to record “Didi”, ‘Aïcha’ and a new version of “Chaba”, all of which put him on the international map.
Entirely acquired by Fassiphone Music Belgium, we are delighted to invite you to discover or rediscover this priceless heritage.
